What is Hypnobirthing?

Pregnant

Hypnobirthing is all about having a  positive birth experience, no matter how your baby enters the world.

In a Hypnobirthing Australia™ class, you will learn some amazing self-hypnosis techniques to help achieve a state deep relaxation & calm. These techniques are what really set us apart from other classes, and when practiced during pregnancy, this ability to 'drop into' relaxation comes so naturally and easily in labour.

The hormones of birth are incredibly important and are a focus of the program. What are oxytocin & endorphins? How do we keep adrenaline at bay? What drives our hormones and what can interfere with their production?

Your main birth support person is encouraged to attend classes with you. The tools and knowledge learnt will enable them to be able to calmly and confidently support you during the birthing process. If you do not have a partner or support person, you are still absolutely welcome and encouraged to attend classes.

Hypnobirthing also helps many parents by releasing fears they may have around birth. Hypnobirthing can help to debunk the many myths around birth; and acknowledge & release fears, allowing women to go into their labour and birth feeling confident, empowered and strong.

In addition to face-to-face classes, you will have access to a beautiful range of birthing videos, further evidence-based reading, plus downloads and audio tracks via the online platform Hypnobubs™. You will also receive a folio with all of the course information set out for you (plus a goody bag from me!).

Ultimately, this course is a complete childbirth education program that will equip you with tools to help navigate the labour and birth process, and put you in control of your own birth experience. Even if your labour changes its course for whatever reason, you will be ready and prepared with a positive and flexible mindset. Scroll down to read the entire course outline.
