What is Hypnobirthing?

Pregnant

Hypnobirthing is all about having a  positive birth experience, no matter how your baby enters the world.

In a Hypnobirthing Australia™ class, you and your partner will learn some amazing relaxation techniques to help achieve a deep state of tranquility & calm; which is not only essential for birth, but for life! When practiced regularly, this newfound ability to 'drop into' relaxation comes so naturally and easily during the labour & birth process.

Hypnobirthing also helps many parents by releasing fears they may have around birth. Acknowledging & tackling fears head-on can help women to go into their labour and birth feeling confident, empowered and strong.

The hormones of birth are incredibly important and are another focus of the program. What is oxytocin & endorphins and why are they important? How do we keep adrenaline at bay? What drives these hormones and what can potentially interfere with their production?

Your main birth support person is highly encouraged to attend classes with you. The tools and knowledge learnt in the classes will enable them to be able to calmly and confidently support you during the birthing process. If you do not have a partner or support person, you are still absolutely welcome and encouraged to attend classes.

In addition to face-to-face classes, you will have access to a beautiful range of birthing videos, further evidence-based reading, plus downloads and mp3 audio tracks via the online platform Hypnobubs™. You will also receive a folio with all of the course information set out for you (plus a goody bag from me!).

Ultimately, this course is a complete childbirth education program that will equip you with tools to help navigate the labour and birth process, and put you in control of your own birth experience. Even if your labour changes its course for whatever reason, you will be ready and prepared with a positive and flexible mindset. Scroll down to read the entire course outline.
